Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

Concur Invoice is meant to be used as a procure-to-pay platform. A simple and none frills platform but still P2P so we can put new purchases in addition to renewals through the approval and review process to ensure procurement protocols are observed and implemented.
  • Pay by Invoice
  • Approval Workflow
  • visibility
  • pay by credit card
  • sourcing function
  • robustness
  • Slight positive RoI benefit
  • doesn't fully automate - needing additional hand holding
  • several things cost extra
It is not the same comparison and would not be fair to compare these. These are purpose-built dedicated platforms that integrate with the enterprise's ERP thoroughly and provide contract and S2P services together with insights extraction via purchasing data tools and insights. This would be an overcall for most SMEs that would be looking at Concur.

If you have a reoccurring invoice that simply needs to get paid, concur can handle this pretty well. You may falter if you ask for much more. There is no contract management function Source to Pay function or credit card payment approval process workflow - it is pretty inexpensive though.

Within its lane it is pretty usable, however, any bounds crossing either limit the usability of the platform or costs extra to do and/or requires additional handholding and time which defeats the goal of automation. this means that a stop gap while you get to a more robust solution could work - but I don't think it will be a full solution for most SMEs

Evaluating Concur Travel and Expense and Competitors

  • Price
We are still looking at what platform will work best for our needs and Concur Invoice is a cost-sensitive stop-gap solution while you design and implement your procurement strategy. Note, you should already have strategy and protocols, and processes in place before using concur since it will not help as much if you do not
