Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

We use Concur Travel and Expense across the company to manage expenses as well as booking travel. This helps people's expense items become more efficient and even enter expenses in the moment. This created more accurate and timely reports and helped with missing receipts that tend to take place when reports are done after travel is complete.
  • Easy to use the app.
  • Ability to scan receipts and enter on mobile devices.
  • Travel booking costs don't seem competitive.
  • Itemization of expenses can be cumbersome if odd amounts.
  • Saves Time.
  • Nearly removes this work from going to an Admin.
We have not tested any other services like Concur Travel and Expense. This is the first one, and it seems to be very common when talking with workers at other companies. We went from a manual spreadsheet process, and this has been such a massive improvement in the process. We have only heard back positive feedback from users on the system.
Currently, we are not using this system with any ERP system. We are in the infancy stages of using the system and also going through some ERP system upgrades currently. This may be something that the company pursues in the future as it will likely ease the work on the accounting side.
Concur Travel and Expense has allowed us to join the digital age in expenses and put this tool in the hand of every user by having them use the mobile application. The ability to enter expenses and scan the receipt directly has made an enormous improvement to the expense reporting process.
Employees are less frustrated, and the headache of expense reporting is now gone. Employees are also taking care of their reports, and this has freed up a lot of time for the office admins to complete other tasks. The return of the employee's money is now just days instead of weeks. Many improvements!
  • Using Concur Travel and Expense for expenses is a great way to almost automate expenses. We went from spreadsheet entry, and manual review to everything being uploaded in concur and being sent to the approvers. This cuts down on time and gets the employee their money back a lot faster.
  • The system also helps in our case when we need something quick, and more employees are willing to purchase it and expense the item versus going through purchasing processes that tend to take a lot of time. This is not the ideal scenario at my company, but it helps when you are in a pinch.
  • The travel booking seems to be easy to use, and it is nice because the money is paid directly by the company. However, I have found that sometimes all the flight options are not shown and the ones that are seen to have an elevated price.

SAP Concur Attributes

Do you think SAP Concur delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with SAP Concur's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP Concur live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of SAP Concur go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy SAP Concur again?

Yes

Overall it gets the job done and seems very simple to use. I think they just need to update the app and make it more user friendly and easier on the eyes. I also have tried to look at past reports or reports that I approved and had a lot of trouble locating them. I am not even sure I was able to locate them.
  • Launches quickly
  • ability to add pictures
  • ability to add expenses and choose from list of "recent" selections you made before.
  • Ability to edit the details is poor
  • Integrated calculator would be nice to have.
A ton of time is saved. This used to be probably half of the administrative assistance workload. We would come back and compile all the receipts and she was using excel to complete the reports. Now they are done by the person submitting them. This cuts down on lost receipts and gets the report submitted in a timely manner with a very quick turnaround on reimbursement.
You can set the system up to meet your needs. We started with just a department and have since rolled it out to other departments successfully. We have even begun work with sister companies to have the platform available across all locations since many people do work with them.
I don't have much to say here as I did not complete the setup on the back end. When talking with others who are working on getting this for all companies it seems it is a task, but the payoff, in the end, will be great. This is likely more of an internal issue getting people on the same page and it lined up to suit each companies needs.

Product Benefits

  • Ability to complete on the go
  • Quick Reimbursement
  • Fairly easy to use
  • no other integrations at this time.
This has reduced the time that all parties involved take when preparing, submitting, and approving expense reports. This was at least a full time admin job before and now things can be done faster and more efficiently without this being a huge project for someone when the person returns from a trip.
I am not sure about this. Like I said we went from using a manual excel spreadsheet to this. It seems that most of our other companies are using concur as well so I am thinking they are one of the better options in the industry for expense reporting softwares.
I don't know if I would say success being I started once it was implemented. It is fairly straightforward to use and most people are able to do it without assistance.

Using Concur Travel and Expense

50 - This is just a guess. It is used all over. Anyone who travels and has expenses is required to use the software if they seek reimbursement.
1 - We have one user that manages the account creation and deletion when an employee arrives or departs. She also will be the one to assign the cost centers, etc to charge the line items to. She is also the second approval on all reports after the manager of the employee.
  • Expense Reporting
  • Reduced Paper
  • Faster Processing
  • none at this time
  • It could work with SSO
  • We could also tie it into the ERP system
We really like the software and people are used to it now. Also, many employees joining the company have experience in prior companies being that the software is so widely used. It would be hard to move into another product when we have so many things that potentially work together and employees across many departments using it.

Evaluating Concur Travel and Expense and Competitors

  • Product Usability
  • Product Reputation
  • Prior Experience with the Product
It is a widely known product and many people are aware and have used the system before. With that it was easy to make the decision and training is very easy to get users up to speed on how to use the software on their PC to get reports submitted timely.
I was not specifically in this part of the process

Concur Travel and Expense Training

Yes, it took a little getting used to on how to start a report and add the expenses with the categories and putting the detail of the costs that are split out. For example, putting ina hotel wants to be split by the day and taxes, etc. Once you do one report it is very easy to understand and use going forward. I was able to figure it out without asking others or looking online for videos or documentation.

Using Concur Travel and Expense

ProsCons
Like to use
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Feel confident using
Familiar
Cumbersome
Yes - The mobile interface works well. It just seems it needs to be a little more user friendly on the design. It seems that many of the same options are there but they are not in logical places like they are on the website. I usually have to start on the website and then use the app to complete expenses along the way. I typically just snap a picture of the receipt and get everything uploaded and do the final touched on the website. The app is not "touch" friendly like modern apps are these days.
