Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use ConnectWise Control to connect to computers outside my organization for two purposes. 1. For briefly helping the person on the other end on an issue, and at the same time allowing them to see what I am doing for teaching purposes. 2. To take complete control over the PC without the need for them to be there.

It's really easy to use once set up. I am using it for business purposes and personal. I can connect to my parents' computers and fix them when they are not able to figure out the problem.

I use ConnectWise instead of setting up my router to allow me to remote in, using port configuration that is a security risk.

Pros and Cons

Setup is simple and easy. Once trust is established between two machines, it's always available for the next time you want to connect.

I cannot think of any issues that I have had. Other than a little laggy, I have never had any issues.

Return on Investment

The amount of money paid for ConnectWise is nothing compared to the security risks involved with opening ports on your routers.

Alternatives Considered

I have not used any other remote control services, so I cannot compare.

Likelihood to Recommend

It covers business and personal needs. I am able to establish a trust between all computers that I regularly connect to, like from home to office servers. I often connect to my parents' PCs and help them out. I show them basic things that confuse them with ease. And for the computers that I connect to infrequently, I need their permission to connect to it, and ConnectWise makes this easy.
