Overall Satisfaction with DameWare Remote Support
I use DameWare Remote support for two reasons. Our production floor is in a clean room and requires gowning up to solve a problem. 95 % of the issues can be solved remotely in a more timely manner. The second reason is my production engineers can see and control the tools remotely and/or from home to keep production working.
- It allows for a quick view of a problem when someone calls for a problem. We can see what they are doing and instruct them on what they need to do to correct the problem.
- We have some issues with connectivity over a VPN connection. This is probably due to DNS. We have less problems with fixed IP addresses.
- Being able to help production people without gaining access is a great production support feature. We can be more productive as a result.
I did not look at other products because 1: I have used this in the past work with good results. 2: Our IT support staff uses it as well.
