Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

The Parvin Group is a management group. Our CEO is an investor in different companies and I'm here at the corporate support office for those businesses. Deputy is used in our coffee shop business, White Rhino Coffee. We have a lot of baristas and hourly employees across 8 locations! Deputy helps us easily schedule and pay our employees. It also integrates with our other software, such as Clover as POS and BambooHR as an HR system.
  • Scheduling is simple for managers to confirm & handle issues.
  • New feed is a great feature for us.
  • Integrations with our current software help with admin tasks.
  • It's user friendly for our employees.
  • Would love a way to communicate like group messaging! Our different locations have a separate app to have a group message. Would be great to have that feature.
  • Also, in that other app, Crew, you can give stars for great days and encourage coworkers. Adding in a star gifting system or more moral boosting would be great.
  • Need a way to "freeze" weeks for payroll! We export hours on Mondays at noon and no changes should be made after that, but occasionally, a shop manager will adjust. Then those hours never get paid for and we don't even know about them on the payroll side! It messed up our reports, KPI, if we get audited, etc. Best to "freeze" those weeks and process the hours another way.
  • Online chat is the worst. I've tried several times because a simple way to communicate in my day BUT there are many over 5-minute pauses and just no replies. Then, emails come through but are hard to read or know if they answered.
  • I'd say, without Deputy, we'd spend 40+ hrs dealing with scheduling issues each week. Our managers would not be able to keep up.

Do you think Deputy delivers good value for the price?

It's user-friendly for end-users, as well as managers and admins. Some aspects are difficult with integrations.
I believe it went well.
For hours, great! It integrated with Clover, which is necessary. But [I believe] (at least in the online chat) customer service is lacking, bordering on non-responsive. I wish for more communication between co-workers of locations and for more of an all-inclusive program.
