Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We use Deputy for scheduling for all of our retail and hourly staff. Our corporate/salary staff does not use Deputy. It allows us to do the scheduling for our retail location and hourly grassroots marketing team. It also ensures we stay compliant with breaks and lunches which is really important for our retail team specifically and that we can visually view that the breaks do not overlap. We also integrate it with our payroll provider, Gusto.

  • Easy to use mobile app for our staff.
  • Push notifications for staff.
  • Ability for staff to switch shifts between themselves.
  • Ability to put out shifts and see what staff grabs them.
  • Better copy/ paste of shifts. It doesn’t make it super easy to c/p.
  • Time saved.
  • Ensuring staff has access to their schedule.
  • Easy to connect to Gusto.
Deputy does scheduling very well and is a great tool if that’s all you need. The other features even messaging/announcements/tasks aren’t as fleshed out. Connecteam is a software that is much more robust. Though, it might be overwhelming to many businesses that don’t need all of those features.

Probably one of the highest usabilities I’ve seen. Very intuitive and easy for people of all capabilities to use. The mobile app also makes it great for hourly employees can clock in on the go.
It was very quick and easy to implement Deputy that I don’t even remember the process! It’s always a good thing if you barely remember doing it :)
Deputy is well suited for a retail biz or any biz that has hourly employees and needs easy scheduling. At the stage of our business, we are looking for something more robust to go beyond staff scheduling such as better onboarding, training, courses, forms, and more. We are actually switching over to Connecteam next month after using deputy for about 2 years because we need a platform to cover everything.
