Overall Satisfaction with Diligent Boards

I use Diligent as an administrator: to build Board and Committee books, review documents, and distribute the materials to Board members/directors. I also review the books as a Board member, from the users' point.
Diligent provides secure and confidential distribution of the materials.
I also manage the contract with Diligent Boards: conduct RFP process and manage annual payments.

  • not so easy to handle access when we have to arrange a specific, non-standard set up of access: sometimes we have to limit the access to one or few of the members of a particular book
  • calendar function will be useful, but it is an additional cost
  • flexible view options: vertical vs. horizontal
  • Secure distribution of confidential materials
  • market recognition: what our Board members use in other organizations they serve on
  • how easy it is for the Board members to use
  • technical and other types of support the team provides

When we reach out to the support team, we always receive a timely response and support.
Our Board members never informed us of any bad services or delayed response from the support team.
Our staff members get timely support to function as an administrator when they have questions or issues.
Since we started to use Diligent Boards as our main meeting materials distribution platform, we never had any security issues when distributing secure documents. It is sometimes a bit confusing if we have to limit access to a specific book to a specific user, such as an executive compensation book. I manage this type of issue by asking for support from a more experienced staff member.
I never used or evaluated other product like Diligent Boards.

Yes

Diligent is pricey, so it is suitable for large-size organizations with sufficient funding. Universities and colleges would be good clients.
Diligent is not suitable for small organizations or not-for-profit organizations due to the pricing.
There are other options to distribute and share documents, such as Google format, so I think pricing is the key to expand the market for Diligent.
