Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace

Dynatrace is being used to monitor the performance and availability of our applications in both the prod and pre-prod environments. It helps us catch issues before they get into production and become customer impacting.
  • Self-instrumentation -- no more time-sink or risk of not having applications monitored
  • SaaS -- off-prem, so no worries about managing another system. We can focus on our customers, not our tools.
  • Self-updating -- no more worrying about not being in support or not having the cutting edge capabilities.
  • Pricing is very expensive for pre-prod environments. This is a huge part of the benefit of Dynatrace. We catch issues before they get into production. But very costly to run there.
  • Better reporting. Although we get API access to pull data down, it would be nice to have more built-in reports.
  • Capabilities such as SSO. Identity management is a critical path, and local cloud accounts are very risky with the lack of ability to centrally audit and manage.
  • Self-instrumentation saves a ton of risk and time.
  • Very expensive to purchase.
  • The great insight and stability of a cloud platform.
Well suited for both large and small customers. Small customers will love the agility and insights that normally are reserved for much more expensive products. Large enterprises will love the scalability.
