Overall Satisfaction with EverString

EverString is a technology product that I have been using for the past six months here at Acquia out of Boston, MA. This is being used throughout our organization, mostly by the sales teams, to the best of my knowledge. It is also being utilized by our marketing team to be able to coordinate outreach campaigns. It is a solid tool for identifying accounts in a specific region or vertical.
  • I am able to access a significant number of companies using this tool
  • There are plentiful filters like revenue, technologies, vertical, and geographic location
  • The tool is great for building an initial list to focus on a specific zip code, state, city, or region
  • The tool is relatively easy to use and user-friendly
  • The technology filtering is definitely a significant concern. I have had countless issues regarding isolating companies with a specific or without a specific technology... leading to me wasting time and effort sorting through the generated list that was already supposed to be filtered.
  • The consistent pop-up messages from the bots are a little overbearing as well and take away from my focus using the tool.
  • There are no contacts within this tool, leading to me having to leverage a separate tool for gathering contact info, which is not efficient.
I feel that training should be more easily available. I cannot speak for the marketing team, but as a sales executive, I find the tool rather simple and easy to use, but a tutorial or guided assistance for best practices would be helpful for sure. I am fairly confident in using the tool, but am frustrated by its lack of functionality.
Not at all satisfied. My specific use case is identifying organizations using one specific technology or without one specific technology. When I am unable to identify one or the other due to the lack of functionality with the technology filter, or if the data is inaccurate (fairly common) then I am left to leverage other tools.
Not well considering the technology filter does not work.
This question surrounding ABM is not relevant to me as I am not a part of the marketing team within our organization. I have had some initial conversations with our marketing team regarding the EverString tool and from my understanding, they feel that it is an adequate tool for segmenting.
I think it is great that EverString is able to provide me with a specific list of accounts by industry and location, however I do feel that that advantage is taken away by the lack of functionality with the technology filter and the fact that the tool does not provide contact data, which in sales is the biggest thing I am concerned about. The fact that I can get target accounts identified (to a degree) is great, but then I have to leverage other tools in order to actually get outreach going into those accounts.
That question is still one I cannot answer with tremendous accuracy at the moment. The cohesion between our marketing and sales team is a work-in-progress and it is too early to determine if EverString has directly contributed to an increase in leads, opportunities, and deals. At the moment, I would have to say it has not helped our cause in any of those departments.
I did not have any evaluation into the selection process here at Acquia. We do have ZoomInfo accounts as well as DiscoverOrg, although those accounts are spread out within the organization. I have used DiscoverOrg at my previous employer and to me, that is far and away the best tool and blows away EverString in terms of everything. Not only can it do all the benefits of EverString, but it also has alerts on companies, company org charts, and contact information, but the user-friendliness is superior. ZoomInfo to a lesser degree has the same strengths versus EverString.
It is well-suited for a big pull of accounts in specific regions, cities, or states, but the tool is lacking in the filtering capabilities (there are plenty of filters but the technology filter specifically is inaccurate and finicky). There is also some frustration about no contact data provided from the tool, which requires me to leverage another tool to cross-reference. This is less than ideal and would make me think this is more for the marketing team to identify targets.
