Overall Satisfaction with Expensify

We are currently using Expensify across our company. My services as an assistant is shared by both Century Bridge and Sweetwater Capital. We use this for Sweetwater which; owns, trades, slaughters, sells cattle all over the world. (Dubai, Turkey, Tanzania, Dar, and more) The men have to travel to different regions of the country often. Losing receipts, incomplete expense reports were a major problem. A problem that lead to a not so positive audit. Expensify allows our guys to take pictures of their receipts and quickly type in the needed info before the information is lost. My CFO and I manage and keep track of expensify online, while our CPA can easily generate reports and keep track of expenses. We are so much more efficient and can spend time on more urgent tasks at hand. The expenses were such a mess before it was causing us to be un-organize in other areas. Expensify has helped us be more organized all around.
  • Is easy to see which reports are processing, open, and approved. If you are waiting to be refunded it's assuring to know that it is being worked on. If you forgot to 'submit' your report it is always good to see that it is still open. On the flip side, if someone is behind it makes it easy to keep track of what is being done so your bothering someone for good cause, and not to hear 'I'm working on it.'
  • Shows the receipt in the individual expense. If you have any questions about the information in the expense you just click the picture and bam! There is the receipt.
  • Love the mobile app. You take a picture of the receipt, just enter the basic information, click the report you're adding it to. Done! If you lose the receipt or it goes through the wash, no worries it's there.
  • When looking at a report I think the receipt thumbnails at the bottom are distracting and unnecessary. I like things to be simple and there is already a separate bucket for un-tagged receipts, so why are some random thumbnails for the report there? Typically they have some missing info or are "past due"? Perhaps a different name than report thumbnails.
  • I've had problems inviting people on the same 'group'. (like a new employee) For some reason it's hit or miss for the invite to go through to their email.
  • Really enjoy expensify better since the update. It's more user friendly as far the admin is concerned.
  • Definitely increased employee efficiency. We are less agitated with each other and spending less time on something that doesn't directly effect business.
  • More time given to business meetings. When traveling less time is spent having to keep track of expenses.
  • Better communication with employees.
I can't remember. We were pretty set on expensify because of the mobile app.
How much do you travel? How often are employees in the office? -Better suited for companies that have employees that travel often, or office away from each other. Some of our employees live in separate parts of the US AND travel internationally. It's hard to get expenses settled the old fashioned way when everyone are very often in separate time zones, or even driving a lot.

Do you have to re-reimburse employees often? If you only have to reimburse an employee or two a few times a year it's not enough to validate paying to use something such as expensify.
