Overall Satisfaction with GoToMyPC
I use GoToMyPC to connect to my office from home or on the road. Yes, there are other programs that allow you to connect remotely, but none are as full-featured GoToMyPC. I particularly appreciate the custom scaling you can make to screen size and the ability to remotely print to an actual printer. The program is robust and I have never had a problem with it, although it took them forever to remove the popup for Bitdefender antivirus. I could not make it go away no matter what I did. But on a functionality scale, it is nearly perfect.
- remote printing
- completely scalable screen size
- smooth dual screen usage.
- Popups for additional services or products that are hard to get rid of
- inability to scroll to the bottom of a screen when not using [the] actual size and the target monitor is a vertical display
- Could not live without it, I guess that gives it a good ROI
GoToMyPC has more features. I was not able to print to a printer using Splashtop not could I completely customize the size of the screen - could only use preset zoom features.

Evaluating GoToMyPC and Competitors
Yes - TeamViewer. comparing cost and functionality, GoToMyPC . It has been long enough now since we changed that I do not remember exactly but there was something about TeamViewer that made it difficult to use, was really annoying and I could not get good support that and caused me to go looking for a replacement.
- Price
- Product Features
- Product Usability
I could set it up and use it without extensive tutorials or having to search the web to figure out what to do. It was intuitive. It is just me and a secretary, I do not have an IT department nor lots of time to go searching for answers, so if I cannot get a program going quickly and fairly easy, I do not want it.
I would swear less.
GoToMyPC Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal - I suppose since I had to look up the definition of "change management"; that answers that question.
- Do not recall any.
GoToMyPC Support
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Problems get solved Kept well informed No escalation required Immediate help available Support understands my problem Quick Initial Response | None |
No. Most premium support goes unused so why pay for it? I never have had a problem where premium support would have made a difference. I frankly do not even know if there is premium support offered.
When it came time to renew and looking at the options made me question did I needed as much as I was paying for. The support person led me through a review process, determined a less expensive option would suit my needs better, got me switched to it and got me a refund. A support tech who is more concerned about making sure you have the right product and not maximizing GoToMyPC's bottom line is a pearl beyond price.
