Overall Satisfaction with Halogen Software
Halogen is being used for probationary and annual evaluations for our agency. Additionally, our employees use Feedback in Halogen to document their performance year long.
Pros
- Halogen has created a much more transparent environment between our employees and supervisors. Using Feedback yearlong lets the employees know how they are performing during the year, before they are reviewed.
- Feedback has created a more organized way of keeping notes on employee's performance that can be added directly to the employee's evaluation form. Making the form a painless task.
- Reports are extremely easy to run to keep track of your agency's progress on a task.
Cons
- Feedback could offer an attachment field that would help greatly with supporting documents if a supervisor does not want to reference a document upload in the documents field.
- More support with training material for staff would be helpful.
- The increased transparency between supervisor and employee has improved communication and performance awareness of the employee.
- Halogen is extremely customizable, so our agency has been able to adapt the product to best fit what we need. Be aware this does take a lot of training on the administrators' end to learn the product. If you learn the product well it really pays off.
- Switching over to a new system has been difficult for some employees, they can get frustrated if the system does not work as expected. You'll need to be extremely specific when training on Halogen because it is way ahead of the curve for performance management programs.
- Performance Management Plus
Halogen is way more developed than Performance Management Plus (PMP). PMP is archaic when it comes to performance management software. The two are not even comparable.
