Overall Satisfaction with IBM SPSS

I use IBM SPSS as a student and it is used by students and instructors in the PhD programs. It is used for research analysis by both instructors and students in various classes, as well as in personal data collection and presentation for dissertations. Since it is the major tool used for data analysis, it allows teachers and students to be on the same page and to also easily find resources to help when they need answers.
  • The categorizing and organization of large amounts of data.
  • Presenting data in easy to read charts and graphs.
  • Consistent data presentation and results.
  • The Mac versions struggles with crashing, etc.
  • It runs slowly and tends to use up a lot of processing power.
Since I've used this for school, it would be hard to say for the work environment. However, for schoolwork, it has saved so much time. If I had to crunch all my data numbers myself using a calculator and pencil it would take hundreds of hours. While SPSS still does take a while, it is much less work and saves so much time, which is incredibly precious to a student.
Since I use this for school, I have not seen a business impact.
I don't really know this. I messed with RStudio and several other programs as I started data evaluation, but since my school required SPSS that is all I ended up really using and working with.
Skype, Jolt, Canvas
While SPSS is not perfect, there is no other tool as powerful for working with statistics. This tool is perfect for universities and students who are pursuing research. Honestly, most PhD students could probably not graduate without SPSS as their statistics tool. I think that this tool could also be useful for any corporate data that needed to be crunched.

SPSS is a very specific software that does a job few softwares can do. It works well and does the job. Because there is not a lot to compare it to I don't have many options to look at other than it. However, it is the tool most all graduate students use and because of that I will continue to use it.

SPSS is the product that researchers use to compare and analyze data. It has the most options and allows a researcher to do any test needed.
Because of the limited availability of softwares like this, and my school requirements, I am not sure that I would have done anything different.

IBM SPSS Training

It was not easy to learn. I had to spend lots of time online at Youtube and reading statistics blogs and sites to be able to use it successfully to do what I needed it to do for my research.

I think the configurability is quite complex. It is not self explanatory and take a lot of time to learn.

There is a lot of information online for SPSS and the help section is quite extensive. I have not had to reach out to support at SPSS, but the tools and help available online have meant that I have been able to resolve my questions without needing to reach out.

Using IBM SPSS

It does the job, but it is clunky compared to most newer and updated softwares. It would be nice if the interface was more friendly, but it gets the job done. One just has to do a bunch of research on how to do it.

IBM SPSS Reliability

I am neutral because I have not had to look into scalability since I am using as a student.
SPSS can tend to crash when I am trying to do a lot of data. This can slow me down when I need to do a lot of data.
SPSS does the job, but it can be slow. I do have to plan a lot of time to get through a huge amount of data.

Neutral because other than importing files from excel I have not used integrations
