Overall Satisfaction with Kronos Workforce Ready
Kronos Workforce Ready is being used across our organization from recruiting and applicant tracking to scheduling and payroll. The purpose of switching to Kronos was to deal with our organization's high rate of turnover (predominantly student employees) and the prospect of future growth and scalability.
- Promotes employee self-service for completing new hire paperwork and making changes to payroll related settings eliminating administrative burden for a manager to complete.
- Our previous system could only be changed and updated centrally by a few managing employees. Kronos has given us the ability to delegate this access to a few managers at different branches spreading the responsibility.
- Kronos has allowed us to move from separate systems for recruiting and applying, scheduling, and payroll to one system that does all of these functions.
- Kronos is not always intuitive and can make it difficult to accomplish tasks that were previously simple in our legacy systems.
- Kronos has too many settings that have to be manipulated, even if your organization is not going to use those settings.
- Anything can be accomplished in Kronos, but you may have to build it out yourself. Many reports were automatically generated in our legacy systems but we have had to learn how to build those reports in Kronos.
- I feel like those the sales team for Kronos over promises and under delivers. I believe we had higher expectations going into the implementation and in reality are not much better off than with our previous systems.
- Positive impact by lessening the amount of time we spend processing and submitting the payroll for each pay period.
- Positive impact allowing us to more easily see the amount of incentive pay and over time that we are paying for each pay period and track this over time.
- Negative impact by making it much more difficult to find errors in employee time sheets prior to payroll submission. Supervisors approve the time sheets based on scheduled versus clocked times. Previously, our legacy systems also allowed us to check scheduled versus clocked versus "typical schedule" to find variance from the norm. This was a huge help in identifying errant time clocks and moving them to the correct location or shift. With Kronos, we have found this to be impossible and have to rely on whatever the supervisor has approved.
Recruiterbox and Humanity were our legacy systems as well as a local payroll vendor. Each of these systems works well enough on their own but we wanted to move to one system to cover everything.
We evaluated Paycor and Paychex along with Kronos. We felt that Paycor was not the system we were looking for. Paychex seemed like an excellent system but we ultimately went with Kronos because we felt their scheduling system was more suitable for our needs.
