Overall Satisfaction with LogicMonitor
We use LogicMonitor to monitor/alert the status of our client's network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs, servers, etc.) We also use it to SSH into client network devices without having to remote into an internal network resource prior. LogicMonitor allows us to monitor almost any type of datapoint you would wish to monitor. It gives so much flexibility and allows for a mass amount of information all in one place. It also allows our business to generate user-friendly reports that we can forward to clients.
- Generate client-facing reports
- Flexibility on monitoring and alerting
- Generate graphs from raw data
- GUI can look overwhelming
- Easier time browsing through folders
- More support documents
- I am a technician and am not familiar with the ROI for the business
We have a combination of on-prem and private cloud. Some devices are hosted in client environments, while others are hosted in our data centers. We monitor mainly in North America, with some locations in Asia and Europe. I believe we monitor a couple of hundred of devices in the organization.
I actually did not implement LogicMonitor. One of our higher tiers implemented the migration in our infrastructure. I helped maintain it so far by addressing alerts that get generated and assisting with trimming these alerts. I used Auvik before, and I liked Auvik because I found it easier to use for what I do on a daily basis. LogicMonitor provides a lot more information but can be overwhelming and has a steep learning curve.
In a way, yes. It allows us to monitor both systems and networking all in one platform. At this time, we are still in the process of trimming down the configurations and making sure everything we want monitored is getting monitored. We are also still trimming down alert configurations to reduce false alerts.
