Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Access
I started my responsibilities in this present company with my work on Microsoft Access. We use it as a database tool, to store all the project information, and sorted into different categories. Someone has done the set-up earlier, and I was the one to load all the information into Access over the past years from 2000 to 2015. It is updated every once in a while, and everyone in the company, use it as a reference database.
- Stores vast amount of data
- Filtering, sorting is easy
- Copying to excel without losing any format is a plus
- It can be made more User-friendly
- Some help tutorials will help to elaborate on all features
- It was a time-consuming activity, we had to invest a lot of time. But after once it is done, it is there forever.
- All our Engineers use this reference data time to time, and it is a good ROI
- Our investment is mainly time.
- MS Excel and MySQL
Microsoft Access is a good data management tool. and it excels in that area, which is what we needed the most. It was simple to use and easy to learn. Database management can be done with multiple users in Access. And we can have reports for data summaries, or for any specific purpose.
