Ease of use - no need for hard-core coding.

Limitations on the input file size.
Sharing visualizations with external parties, eg consultants.

It is on par if not better than other commercial software allowing for data visualizations/analysis. It is made available by the organization, possibly because of its ease of integrating with other Microsoft apps, eg Excel.

It is handy for projects where different groups of people may want to analyze/visualize different aspects of the data. Visualizations can be changed on the fly simply by clicking around, so it's good for projects involving audiences who don't need coding experience to size up the data. It is however not so good at handling gigantic/complex datasets.
