Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro to gather project requirements. Workflow diagrams help illustrate user journeys, and the new user story feature enables us to plan our stories. Miro has been useful for building documentation by acting as a single source of truth. It is also a friendly platform for demoing solutions to stakeholders and facilitating sprint retrospectives with our dev team.
  • Granular settings - board style (dots/squares) and snap-to-grid options are particularly useful when drawing highly detailed diagrams.
  • Copying and Pasting Excel into Miro as sticky notes or a table is extremely time-saving!
  • The ability to add brand colors helps us stay on brand and draw up presentation slides more efficiently.
  • Auto-size a table based on the amount of text instead of having to manually change the height and width, similar to auto-height and auto-width in Excel.
  • Increase the number of brand colors you can set.
  • Customizable sticky note colors.
  • Improved documentation - our boards are used as a single source of truth, so creating documentation is quicker as we don’t need to spend time scrolling through numerous Word documents to find out project objectives! We also link our boards to monday.com to aid project management.
  • Improved collaboration with our stakeholders - inviting them to our boards gives them a chance to review notes to ensure we have gathered the correct requirements.
  • Improved feedback during sprint retrospectives which ultimately results in better team collaboration by the ability to allow our team to comment anonymously when stating their “roses, buds and thorns”!
I am one of two administrators, and while I was not responsible for setting Miro up in our domain, we had oversight of the series of emails informing us of the onboarding stages. One slight drawback I had on this was that the emails were staggered too much, meaning on one occasion we were ready to move onto stage 3/3 but had not yet received that email to advise us on the steps to take.
So far, we have integrated Miro with monday.com so our program management team can refer to our boards when reviewing progress and planning for project board meetings. We have also set a password on our boards which improves board security within monday.com. No integration issues, Miro was easy to add as a tab to our monday.com program boards.
Our company does a combination of on-site and online work days. Miro has been extremely useful when some team members are not on-site as we can still collaborate virtually. This is particularly helpful for new projects; they get off the ground faster without having to schedule an on-site working day that suits the entire team! The talk track feature has also been useful to us when members of our team have not been able to attend meetings, allowing them to still voice their opinions on the project.

Miro does everything we as a company need. While there are competitors, we are yet to find anything better. Miro has helped relay information to our stakeholders; we don’t need to screen share boring documents, but instead, we can share our boards where our stakeholders can collaborate with us, making our meetings more efficient.
