Overall Satisfaction with Notepad++

I personally use it for a variety of tasks but we have plenty of users who use it for other purposes. It solves a ton of problems for us through its variety of use cases. As a blanket statement, we use it heavily to convert file types or encoding types for data files we work with.
  • Converts files types.
  • Converts file encoding types. This is by far its best feature for us.
  • Freehand coding.
  • Organizing my copy/paste's. Kind of like clipboard.
  • The interface isn't very appealing.
  • I find some of the icons don't make much sense for what they're representing.
  • I'm really nitpicking here but some more helpful tooltips would be nice for novice users.
  • Without it, we wouldn't be able to deal with some partners.
  • It's free so that's a massive plus.
  • We wouldn't get paid out by partners if we didn't have its file conversion.
Notepad++ is by far the best text editor I have ever tried. You really don't need to look elsewhere as far as functionality and convenience. I wouldn't really write long hand code in it. I'd rather use something like Dreamweaver because it's built just to write code and has more advanced features for coding. My teacher used to show examples in Notepad ++
I use it to convert file types and file encoding types. This is super helpful for someone that needs to upload a variety of data for their job. I deal with massive price files, data dumps and sales data that needs to conform to the platform it's being upload to.
