Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
HR, payroll, onboarding, recruiting, timekeeping. I like that we have all HR in one place.
- Service
- Education on use.
- Creating useful new modules.
- Reasonable pricing.
- It does not go to the employee name when you hit "enter" in HR & Payroll; it stays on the first employee in the alphabet.
- In Time and Labor, you have to use the mouse to click on the employee name when searching.
- Job Target and Indeed do not require candidates to fill out the application, leaving much of it blank.
- Reduced errors on payroll.
- Better management of time off.
- Better tracking of performance reviews.
- Recruiting has been a great timesaver, way less paper.
- Data Insights saves so much time.
- Onboarding is complete prior to first day.
- Once place for all things HR, simplified processes.
Going from 2-4 sites for HR down to one site for everything reduces duplication. The recruiting module is great for a remote workforce; everybody can see the applicants. Regulatory reporting is way easier than calculating by hand. Payroll integration with vendors has simplified our payroll process. Automated calculation of hours for payroll reduces errors.
We just started using Surveys, I love that. We have not really used Community or Peer Recognition, hope to deploy it in 2024.
Kronos/UKG was too expensive and more than we needed. We looked at five vendors overall, and Paylocity was the best fit for us.

Paylocity Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Yes - Our rep was awesome for Recruiting and Onboarding implementation! Her expertise and timeliness kept us on track and made sure we understood what we needed to do. She had us on a calendar and made sure implementation went super smoothly. She helped us understand the implications of the choices we were making during implementation. She was top-notch. In other implementations (not Paylocity), it was always a cluster. I really appreciate all she did for us.
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled - Break it down into steps. Teach others at least twice. Use screenshots and let them do the work while you help them through it.
- Can't think of any...we had to change some of our processes, but it was not a problem.

We forgot to hit the final "Send" for payroll. I received email notifications that evening warning me that the payroll did not transfer. We were able to get it submitted in time.

- Payroll
- Timecard roll up.
- Time off accruals, requests and reporting.
- Integration with payroll vendors.
- Employee event due date tracking.
- It is not cumbersome but inconvenient, requiring the use of the mouse to click and failure to search names when I hit enter. This has caused some significant errors.
Yes - Works well on most features, but not so great on requesting time off.
