Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I am new to this platform, and
only been using the program since January, but I have thoroughly enjoyed using
Paylocity. Not just from an HR perspective but from the employee side as well. At times the knowledge base articles were not clear and only added frustration. However, the customer service is very responsive when I’ve needed help when the Peak Portal didn’t address my questions. Additionally, the report templates I have access to been
very helpful when other departments need information quickly. I can manipulate
what information I want included to drill down to the information needed. The Recruiting
tab integrates nicely those hired into the Onboarding tab! Lastly, we have been
able to streamline our processes by using the Workflows & Document tab to
create tasks and event packets for not just our US employees but our
international employees as well.

I would definitely recommend
Paylocity to those searching for a new HCM program!

Pros

  • Integrating new hires from recruiting to onboarding!
  • The large library of report templates.
  • The ease of creating documents for new tasks to be added to an event.
  • Being able to adjust an event packet - ie deleting or adding.

Cons

  • The inability to delete an obsolete task, even though it is no longer attached to an event packet that is in use. If it is no longer being used, it would be nice to clean house and not see it anymore.
  • The knowledge base articles could be a little more tight to ensure the information really does address the problem.
  • When I do need to call customer service, those who are not familiar with the backend of Paylocity are too quick to send us to the Peak Portal. I am calling customer service because the Peak Portal didn't address my needs.
  • Better data-driven decision making
  • Streamlined / automated processes that reduce time and errors

The ability to create fillable documents for the required documents needed for our international regions has been a life savor! Previously, the new hires have only been able to fill in by hand the information needed, which to say the least was hard to read and then send through an email. It took time to reach the individual to get the correct information. This also put at risk the information from being intercepted. The forms are now streamlined, sent out securely and then automatically deposited in their employee document file.
I have honestly not had the opportunity to use this portion of Paylocity yet, however, I have seen the announcements of our employees birthdays and work anniversaries come across. It is always nice to be recognized for those special mile stones not only in our lives but in our work achievements as well.
I find Paylocity to be much more simplistic and easy to use than Oracle PeopleSoft. I used the later for 12 years and was not very user friendly - neither on the HR side nor the employee side. I would much rather use Paylocity than PeopleSoft any day, hands down! Paylocity is more intuitive.

Paylocity is well adapted to not only US but international as well. They interface with Blue Marble, which allows us to use Paylocity for our international locations as well. I have been able to create new hire packets with the international documentation we need per the different regions we operate. It has really helped us be more automated and streamlined in our onboarding processes. Additionally, with the option to create a fillable document requesting all the needed information to create a new employee within Paylocity, there is less risk of sensitive information being compromised.
