Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity as an HR and payroll management system. This is a one-stop shop for us that assists with all HR tasks from recruiting to onboarding, to time and attendance, payroll, training, benefits, expense management, and performance. We use the software daily. It is easy to use and utilized by all staff. The modules are user-friendly and intuitive.
  • User-friendly interface
  • All encompassing HR management
  • Great mobile app that is easy to use with a lot of functionality
  • Support - it used to be great but has done downhill in the past 12 months
  • They focus more on adding new features and modules than making sure the current and core products work well without bugs
  • More consistent process
  • No formal data but saves significant time with integrations from time & labor to payroll
Automation from Paylocity has had a positive impact. The time & labor module is easy-to-use for all staff. There are some really great integrations such and punch-in and punch out (with geo-fencing) that work well for our younger seasonal employees, making time approval much easier for our supervisors.
Virtually none. We continually see upgrades in their product briefs about these features. However, we need their core modules to work seamlessly first rather than update and update to these services. Impressions and community are great, but at the end of the day, this falls short when the other modules lack.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - Tyler Incode. This basically assisted with payroll only. We needed more including recruiting and personnel management.
  • Ease of Use
Ease of use. We needed something that was easy to use for employees of all ages.
I'd lean in more to find out about their performance modules and support.

Paylocity Implementation

Their implementation team was friendly and supportive as we walked through the process. They took direction from us regarding timelines and learning styles.
Yes - I remember it being tackled by modules over several weeks.
  • Information overload. We were not prepared for the very technical answers needed for set-up.

Paylocity Support

Their support used to be stellar. Reps were immediately available, helpful, and friendly. In the last 6-12 months, I've encountered reps that make me feel like I'm bothering them. I'll explain an issue and get clipped responses. They really need to do better here. They preach in their webinars about making employees feel supported and often make changes to their community and feedback modules, giving the impression they care. They tout a culture of positivity but, in my opinion, does not correlate with their support personnel. They rolled out a chat feature which, in my opinion, is terrible. It's slow and often times I'll get through to the end and they recommend I call support anyway.
