Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I am the controller of the organization. I use Paylocity for Payroll and time keeping. I use Paylocity for journal entries in Quickbooks and to run reports for time on jobs. The business problems the product address is Payroll and time keeping. The scope of my use case is for these same purposes.
  • Payroll
  • Employee data source
  • Taxes
  • Customer Service is number one
  • Availability
  • Customer attention
  • Journal entry import to Quickbooks
  • Help resources are very complex and hard to find answers to problems
  • Processes are faster
  • Taxes are taken over by Paylocity
  • Reports are useful
  • Employee data source
Paylocity has automated payroll a little bit more for us. Payroll still takes quite some time and we have to create certain spreadsheets for journal entries to work nicely with Quickbooks. Taking over taxes has been nice for us. The automation of 401k and HSA payments has been very nice.
We have not participated in any of these features of Paylocity but they seem nice.
We used to do Payroll ourselves using Quickbooks. I much rather use Paylocity than do payroll ourselves.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

Paylocity makes it very easy to process payroll and have time keeping records for employees. Paylocity makes payroll taxes very easy.
Paylocity has the potential for journal entry into QuickBooks, but I have not yet taken advantage of this feature as I heard from a friend that it was not useful.
Paylocity does not completely remove the need for a bookkeeper or accountant.

4 - Administration and managers
  • Journal Entries
  • Job Costing
Our bill goes up and down and I don't know why.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

  • Ease of Use
Paylocity takes over taxes and is a little bit faster than doing payroll on our own. It also helps with time entry.
I would choose Paylocity again.
