Usability

CSB used to be very easy to use and manage. PiiQ not so easy. The setup of the review rounds is very confusing and there is no accommodating changing roles. Managers who don't select the proper round end up adding information to the wrong round and then think it was deleted when they select the correct round. I am just not a fan of the new product.

Support Rating

The support desk has always been responsive and follows up on open items.

Pros and Cons

Pros

It allows for self assessments, which assists the managers in completing their reviews and speaking with their employees.

Cons

We started out with Sonar6, which was a good product, easy to use and administer. It was then bought out by Corner Stone and called Cornerstone Small Business, but basically was the same product.
When they moved from CSB to PiiQ we lost many areas of functionality and are finding it hard to use this product. Some examples: We no longer have the self assessment comparisons scales for the managers to view. The 360 no longer has the factors associated to it, its is now a manual process. The development plan was removed, so there is no place for managers to plan out future growth with their employees. The Notes area has been removed, so managers now have to keep notes in a separate document and its not associated with the review. And the final piece that is having us look for another application is that you can not change a persons role mid year, which is an issue as people change positions throughout the year. This also has caused an issue with our monthly upload of new hires and changes.
I believe they rolled out the PiiQ product too soon. It may become a good product but based on what we had to what we now have is a great disappointment.

Return on Investment

As with any review process it opens a dialog between the manager and employee. PiiQ assists in starting that conversation.

We have used Performance Impact, Sonar6, CSB and now PiiQ.

Hi, Thanks for your feedback. The previous versions of Growth Edition were built on a legacy system that had been iterated and added to for about 10 years. Because of this the system became complex with many features. When developing PiiQ we wanted to simplify to help solve the widest problems within small businesses. In the process some workflows and features no longer fit the vision for the new PiiQ system. Role Changes are being considered for iteration, we are looking to make changes to this process soon. 360s another area we are looking into as we continue to move towards continuous feedback as a key model for performance management. Regarding Development Plans, we recently released Manager and Employee Check-ins. This allows for continuous performance conversations (either formal or informal) to be tracked in PiiQ. Development conversations can be tracked here more dynamically than the text box found in Growth Edition.
