Overall Satisfaction with Procore

Command Mechanical Group uses Procore every day. Procore seems to be built for general contractors to manage their subcontractors. There can be difficulties with this because we are a subcontractor that needs to manage from the bottom and up, but we have figured out some tricks that allow our large projects to be managed well, including projects with a lot of equipment purchased, man power, and cost tracking. Procore allows me to see the hours I've used against the hours I've estimated, as well as the cost. It helps with future projects to know where my field workers start to slow down, what things take more time. Now, I can effectively manage the cost by just looking at the information I've entered all together in the Prime Contract and Budget.
  • Document AIA Form G702-703 is automatically generated after you've created your Prime Contract. I've struggled with these pay application documents before using Procore and now it is so easy to bill my clients and track efficiently.
  • Procore Mobile App: I love that my field workers and mobile office employees can get important information in a few clicks of a button. The field workers quickly enter their hours on the job site, which makes it very easy to do payroll too.
  • Cost Code Customization: It is so nice to be able to change your created cost code per project. I am able to customize the cost codes for a project's specific needs and change the number and name in my budgets and pay applications that I give my customers.
  • Change Orders are a nightmare to enter. As a subcontractor, we usually request a change through an RFI or are told something is being changed, and it is as simple as that. When I need to enter these changes in Procore, I have to first create a Changed Event, turn it into a Potential Change Order and finally approve it as an actual Change Order. This is a time-consuming process that is very hair-pulling. Now if I'm missing something or the Change Order needs to be changed without creating a whole revision process, I have to un-approve and go back 3 steps in order to edit or change any small details.
  • Reports: I understand you can create your own, which is fantastic, but it is time-consuming and not always what you want. I think there should be more reports that are already created for you and more options for columns and information when building your own reports.
  • Our vendors and clients who do not use Procore complain about the email setting. We all wish when an email is sent from Procore it would look less like an ad or junk mail. Emails and important information are getting missed because of this. We would like to see a normal standard email format.
  • We have saved MONEY!! Most important, right? We have cut our overhead cost because we now have all information in one place, tracking efficiently.
  • Our field guys have more information in the field, and it is great. Happy field guys, harder workers!
  • Emails are being missed because when an email is sent out of Procore to a non-Procore user, it looks like junk mail and may even sometimes end up in their spam. This has almost cost us money from information being missed.
Google Docs, which we do not use in Procore often. We have not used any other softwares, and I'm not sure we will in the future.
We have not been using all of Procore's features because of how small we are in the office and field. We hope to use Daily Logs in the future.
Knowify was nice because it was good for managing your accounting, which Procore does well enough, just not with in-depth accounting. Our company needed more of a Project Managing software, which Procore is perfect for.
Procore is fantastic for General Contractors and upper-tier contractors. I would not recommend vendors or bottom-tier subcontractors use this program.
