Overall Satisfaction with Quick Base

We are using QuickBase organization-wide to track order entry, fulfillment processes, inventory, shipping, procurement, and production planning. I have taken ownership of developing it for our processes and have been teaching myself how to add features.
  • It's very easy to learn.
  • It's customizable and cost-effective in the sense that outsourcing IT assistance for platform development can be minimized and brought in-house.
  • QuickBase University is included with your subscription so essentially they have provided all the resources you need to build your own app. What I did not like about SAP was A) the huge investment on the front end, and B) the fact that I would not be able to fly solo at some point and continue to develop our system as our business processes evolve.
  • Microsoft Teams Integration
  • Task Management - without creating a record, like keeping a running list of to-do items that are related to a specific record and can be assigned to another user.
  • Productivity tracking, I'd like to see how much time employees are actively using the system and be able to drill down into old reports and fields and see their true usage for management purposes and also for app clean-up.
We are just now beginning to tap into QuickBase's capabilities. I think in due time, I will be able to achieve what I have imagined for our company and most definitely develop something even more innovative.
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
Building and Deploying App - I am currently achieving this. What I love about QuickBase is you get what you put into it. It can do just about anything you can imagine, you just have to think outside the box like a developer and collaborate with individuals in your organization to really define what it is they want to improve in their workflow.

Driving Insights - For the most part it does a pretty good job analyzing data with summary reports and graphs and charts. However, i think if there was a way to develop a Pivot Table per say between different tables using lookup valves, etc. the insight capabilities would magnify tremendously.

Collaboration - At this time, collaboration inside of the QuickBase app is not possible.

Solving Problems - It does assist in identifying problems and define the data needed for analysis in order to come up with a solution. However, it does not solve them for you.

Building and Deploying apps for specific needs - Not quite there yet but it's possible!

Overall, I think QuickBase has so much potential and I am so excited to be able to dive in and really begin to streamline our processes this year.
I update my applications all the time, whether tweaking the way a specific formula is calculated or creating something new from scratch. I have cut hours off my job with QuickBase and automated so many workflows that I had to do by hand in the beginning.
QuickBase is best suited for record-keeping, relational databases, and data analysis.
Not suited for interactive collaboration such as instant messaging, business process change tracking, email management, and simple task management.
