Overall Satisfaction with QuickBase

QuickBase is used by my organization for facilitating the workflow of all project management processes across all applicable knowledge areas. It has helped us to address business problems such as standardization of processes by providing a framework for many tasks and efficient communication through automation of notifications with granularity. It has also helped my company with business process improvements that we identify through use of the software and later correct with software improvements.
  • Provides alerts and notifications via email or webhook when data changes occur.
  • In-memory database for fast access to data.
  • Provides an environment that allows staff without formal coding experience to develop functioning applications.
  • Reporting. Not great for BI or graphical reporting.
  • Governance. Could use improvements for enterprise grade security, logging, etc.
We have realized benefits by building custom applications that are faster and easier to build than with traditional software development techniques. We accomplished this by using staff members from the business side and teaching them rapid application development.
When we compared QuickBase and Zoho Creator, QuickBase had features that met that our IT security requirements that Zoho Creator did not.
No traditional programming experience required to build a fully functioning application. Moderate-level Excel skills are quite helpful in grasping the concepts of building QuickBase apps and with manipulation of data. Single-purpose apps can often be built in a matter of hours.
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
As a cloud based application "updates" really aren't necessary although we make changes/improvements to our apps quite often. Most updates are done in a live environment during business because of the low risk to harming the application/data.
Great for tracking the completion of tasks

Not great for use as a knowledge base
