Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online Advanced

I use QuickBooks Online Advanced daily to create new customer accounts and new vendor accounts as well as all accounting related activities. I create invoices, enter vendor invoices to bills, enter customer payments to their requested invoices, and create journal entries for miscellaneous expenses and credits. I also create mailing lists, AR reports, and other customized reports to help with my daily tasks.
  • Provides customizable reports
  • Dashboards are quick and easy tools to see a snapshot
  • Easy to use customer database
  • Search functions are good
  • When updates are performed it eliminates the ability to delete or update certain settings, leaving us stuck with invoices going to email addresses that are no longer valid which makes the invoice pop up with delivery issues when there technically aren't any. This crowds the dashboard information.
  • Another update eliminated the ability to make changes in the reference field when notating received payments. Thus, if it was saved with information that needs changing prior to posting the payment we have to take extra steps to delete the entire entry and do it again instead of just changing the reference field.
  • The process for correcting records when a customer payment is rejected by the bank is long and tedious, leaving room for mistakes on the entry end. It would be nice if this could be more standardized and straightforward.
  • Working from different locations, QuickBooks Online Advanced is always available to all team members, saving time and keeping productivity on schedule.
  • With frequent updates that often break links and input ability the company loses time in productivity due to trying to find workarounds to a system that was working before an update but no longer afteward.
Since QuickBooks Online Advanced was already implemented when I came onboard to the company I cannot answer to the experience of setting up and implementation. What I can answer to is the training process. I was new to QuickBooks Online Advanced when I began this job 1 year ago but it only took a day of training and I was able to pick up everything I needed to know to get started and self-learning along the way is easy as well.
We have employees in three different states and more than 7 locations so the cloud based ability is critical. In addition, several employees travel frequently, utilizing the mobile-enabled system to conduct business regularly. Having this ability keeps us moving and productive. We are able to make real time changes and adjustments from just about anywhere.
This is a question more suited for our company president but from my observations, we struggle with things like inventory, needing to use outside resources to maintain our numbers and know in real time what our inventory is really at. But from an accounting standpoint, QuickBooks Online Advanced is a good tool for keeping our numbers organized.
Again, I was hired after QuickBooks Online Advanced was selected and implemented so I cannot answer to how the software stacks up to the choices that were explored when the company started over 7 years ago. I know we are looking for other options now that might have more consistency in operations and provide us with the inventory management that we aren't able to get out of QuickBooks Online Advanced at this time.

Yes

QuickBooks Online Advanced is a great tool for keeping all your customer and vendor information in one place as well as recording payments incoming and outgoing. It allows customizable reporting and is easy to use for routine tasks.
However, if you need to perform more complicated tasks, the route is often convoluted and frequently changes. It would be nice to have some consistency.
