Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge NXT

At this time, RE NXT is only used by development officers who are directly fundraising. I use the RE NXT only for administration and support purposes. We are planning to give access to our development committee members as well, since they are fundraising on behalf of the organization as well. RE NXT provides fast and easy access to our donor database as well as easy basic filtering tools to look at a certain group of constituents or a certain group of pending actions for the solicitors.
  • Web-based and easy to access anywhere
  • User-friendly interface, intuitive
  • Provides basic filtering tools based on donors' ratings, and other helpful criteria which eliminates the need for query and export in the DB
  • DB administration functions are not available on RE NXT. SO the administrator ends up spending 95% of the time in the old DB view and miss the opportunity to work with RE NXT and know it well
  • We can't see the "Notify" option on the Action tab in the RE NXT view.
  • I hope some basic adding and deleting features were available on the RE NXT for example I can't change someone's addressee or salutation and for that I have to go into the database view
  • Operational Efficiency
  • Increased revenue from new donors
  • Increased revenue from existing donors
  • Increased scalability due to cloud deployment
We have achieved some level of operational efficiency, but not necessarily the increased revenue. IT expenditure has definitely increased by a LOT because RE NXT is not cheap and we did not have to pay for it before! Scalability has increased, but the price also will increase if our database grows. Limitation on the number of users is non existent, and this is a huge plus.
We have purchased FE and FE NXT at the same time we purchased RE NXT. the FE implementation process has been very challenging and frustrating and after almost 2 years now, we were able to get our "customer success manager" assigned to us just last month. I am faily familiar with Blackbaud's products and I thin they are great! But throwing a software product at the customer and wish them good luck is not a good way of developing a good reputation! Especially for a product like FE which is not an industry dominant like RE. Honestly, at many times, the level of ignorance was so high that we felt like blackbaud has given up on the FE themselves and they don't care if we implement/integrate successfully.
That makes me be very skeptical in purchasing another product, especially those which will affect our existing processes and will need to integrate.

I have worked in past with generic CRM systems which are not comparable to RE NXT. But in NP world we did not consider any other solution, since we already had Raiser's Edge 7 and were happy with it, so it just made sense to get the RE NXT. Pursuing alternative products would mean partially changing our entire data structure and we did not want to do that.
It's more useful functionality could be described as fast and easy access to donor and solicitor data and provides a huge advantage for development officers to be able to share the access to the board members or committee members outside the office. Where it is not suited is to run comprehensive reports and exports which still needs to be done in the old database view.
