Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Sage Intacct is used by us for enterprise GL, AP, Projects, Financial Reporting, and Bank Recons.
- Real-time updates that can be accessed 24x7 from any device.
- Inter-Company entries are easy and accurate. No reconciliations required.
- Financial reporting is extrememly flexible. There is no limit to what you can report on. Financial entries, statistical entries and budget entries.
- They are updating their fixed asset module, but are not 100% there yet.
- Not that this is an area for improvement, but choosing your implementation team is critical to the success of the installation. Setup of dimensions incorrectly will cause some frustration and potentially cause some instances to be modified late in the implementation. Use the Intacct corporate in-house team or a VAR that has done dozens of Intacct installs - the additional cost is well worth it.
- Reporting is quick and easy. We have 1 person in AP processing 2,000 invoices per month.
- The entry duplication feature is a huge time saver for large volume entries each month. Same goes for reversal entries - couldn't work without those now.
- The majority of the implementation was done by the finance group with very little assistance from the IT group. Cloud-based is definitely the way to go for small-medium sized businesses.
Reoccurring entries are simple - set them up once with your start and end dates and let the system make the entries for you! Autofill on AP invoices is a nice feature too.
We currently use the multi-entity configuration - simple and easy, but correct implementation setup is critical to the use of these features. We also use the Project functionality for tracking various client engagements - very nice feature. Dimensions is what sets Intacct apart from others - once you grasp the concepts, it can redefine your entire accounting processes.
Great Plains runs on legacy servers and has not had many feature enhancements for a long time. In addition, this application has not migrated to the cloud which is the "standard" these days for small to medium sized companies. Net Suite is a very nice system, but if you don't need all the modules within the "Suite", then Intacct might be a better solution and definitely less expensive. In addition, the Dimension features within Intacct are unique and extremely useful for financial tracking and reporting.
