Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
We use Sage Intacct for internal accounting purposes. It syncs with all our other systems (AP, practice management) which helps streamline our accounting process. It is also advanced enough to report across our different locations and departments.
Pros
- It is quick. Entries post in real-time. Syncs with our other systems are pretty much instantaneous.
- It is sophisticated. It can handle a lot of data and utilize multiple dimensions (departments, locations, etc.)
- It is user-friendly. It is pretty intuitive when navigating around in the system.
- It is web-based, so it can be accessed without being on a network.
Cons
- The import templates are very particular. (for importing budget data, or large journal entries) And sometimes it is difficult to figure out what is wrong with the format you are trying to import.
- There a few small kinks: when you change one dimension, it clears out another. After an extended period of time it will time out and you have to wait a few minutes to log back in.
- It is simplified our firm accounting process and made it more efficient. We have less manual work than with our old G/L software.
We don't use the A/P, A/R, or order management consoles. But from what I have seen at the user conference, they can handle all of those things well. The general ledger process is great.
Have not used yet.
Intacct is much more sophisticated, it can do more and can be tailored more to your needs.
