Overall Satisfaction with ScienceLogic

We currently leverage SL at over 50 different clients and monitor over 2500 devices for them 24/7/365. We monitor servers, networking equipment, ISP uplinks, website URLs, and everything associated with them.
  • The ability to be granular with alarms, thresholds, and monitors placed on devices.
  • The ability to sync with platforms such as ServiceNow for ticket management connected to ScienceLogic device IDs.
  • 24/7 Support.
  • Database management has been rough, they manage our SL database for us as this has been a painful process.
  • Getting prompt support isn't difficult, but getting the support that is well-versed on the bugs/features is difficult.
  • Bugs. So many bugs. New versions are released with so many bugs.
  • Time spent troubleshooting known bugs ScienceLogic has in their new database versions has cost a lot of time.
  • Time troubleshooting deployments have also been more than we would like.
  • Maintenance and upkeep takes a lot of engineer hours as well.
Yes - and for the better. We have synced our SL Database with our ticketing platform and this has enabled us to have a better grasp on monitoring alarms for our clients.
Not applicable, we don't see SL affecting our growth.
Well! As I stated previously it takes a while to get there, but it works almost seamlessly with ServiceNow.
  • Temperature Monitors in Server Rooms.
  • Using a shared collector outside an organization to monitor the external interface on a client's ISP.
  • Joining the VM of a collector with an onsite appliance as a business offering.
I have no prior experience with ScienceLogic alternatives.
Monitoring smaller environments is where I think ScienceLogic is best suited. The UI is too painful to manage a large corporation without hassle.
