Sprout Social Soars
Overall Satisfaction with Sprout Social
We currently use Sprout Social for drafting and publishing content, community monitoring, community engagement, reporting and social listening on behalf of our clients.
Pros
- Sprout is one of the easiest social tools to use on the market without sacrificing capabilities and analytics.
- Sprout's reporting capabilities require little to no customization for most reporting needs.
- It's also handy if you need to export social calendars to non-Sprout users in a format that's visually pleasing and easy to understand.
Cons
- I'd love to see more robust tag reporting capabilities, but they mentioned that this is something in the pipeline for improvement.
- I wish it was easier to batch content and shift it to approval or draft mode. Sometimes clients can change their mind and moving through each post individually can be a bit time consuming. This is a very minor thing.
- I'd love to see more customization options come to its reporting feature so we can insert graphics. Currently it supports the insertion of text only.
- Sprout provides significant work efficiencies for lean social teams, which frees up our team to focus more on our clients needs vs. tedious tasks, like building social calendars in excel sheets or creating visuals for social reports
- Sprout's social listening program has enabled us to provide new offerings to clients that we previously were unable to execute
- We are also using Sprout for our own agency to look for potential prospects and engagement opportunities
I used Sprinklr when I was with a previous employer. While the tool is extremely robust in its community management, publishing, reporting and social listening capabilities, the price tag is cumbersome for smaller businesses and agencies. Sprout offers similar capabilities at a reasonable price. If you do need heavy automation, highly customizable reporting and cost is no barrier, Sprinklr still may be worth exploring, but Sprout should be able to deliver.
I've also used Spredfast, which is now Khors, a few years ago and I was not impressed with the tool at all. It lagged in automation, the tool frequently glitched, its slow speed made work extremely difficult and they were misleading when it came to current capabilities vs future capabilities. They may have improved since then, but I would recommend Sprout hands down. Also, Spredfast had a slightly lower price tag than Sprinklr, but the cost savings was not significant. Sprout would come in below what they are probably still requesting today.
