Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

Having Trinet take care of the HR processes such as payroll and benefits has alleviate the company's risk of not doing something right and being sued.
We currently use Trinet for payroll services, worker's comp coverage, health insurance, FSA, 401K, life insurance coverage. We have one foreign employee. Employees can log on to view their insurance plans and see their 401K balance. We are a small simple company so no other services were used at this time.
  • I needed a copy of the DE9 and 941 form but since TriNet submits all payroll tax in a lump sum, there were actually no forms to find. However, the lady who helped me was very thorough. She sent in questions to the tax dept in TriNet and helped me find the information I needed.
  • Whenever I have a question, I email my payroll specialist and she is always very prompt in answering whatever question I have or directs me to the right person or department if she can't answer it.
  • Our sales rep was very helpful and guided me carefully thru every step of setting up TriNet until I was comfortable and then he handed me to the next group of people. It made the whole process very smooth and timely.
  • I hope Trinet can provide a copy of the W2 forms that they send to employees. Employers need that copy to keep as records. We like to see what the employees see. Since we only have 4 employees, I was able to get copies from them, but if there were more than 10 employees, it would be difficult and unprofessional to do so.
  • Trinet has improved payroll accuracy for our organization.
  • Trinet helped us stay within HR compliance so we lower our risk of being sued.
  • Trinet helped us reduce health insurance expenses due to our small size.
  • Paychex
We only used Paychex for their payroll services, but even with just that, they made quite a few errors. We've lost trust with them and at the same time, we needed a total source company to handle all of our HR. Also, we have high paying employees who were not able to contribute to retirement plans and FSAs because with the company size, we couldn't provide a compliance plan where employees can participate in these programs.

I think Trinet is good for small businesses, because usually small businesses have similar things that they need to run like payroll, worker's comp, insurance, but lack the man power to do all that. With Trinet, they can hand all that complicated HR businesses to Trinet and focus on their actual business.

Once the company becomes bigger, Trinet won't be as cost effective anymore. Also, when the company is bigger, it is better to have internal control over all issues.
