Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

The entire non-profit organization uses TriNet for virtually all HR purposes including employment and payroll. It alleviates us having to hire an individual to do this type of work. This way, we can be sure that all HR issues are being handled professionally and to the letter of the law, while the organization focuses its energy on its mission of helping children and families struggling with a devastating disease.
  • TriNet continually updates its web portal, making the user experience (admin and staff) that much more friendly.
  • We have been through a few client service representatives. Each one was not only extremely well-versed on how to use the site, but all were very pleasant and willing to go the extra mile to help in any way, shape or form.
  • At least to date, the reports and forms available in the system satisfy all our needs.
  • When new, tested, bug-free features are installed it would be helpful to get an email calling attention to them.
We've had a few customer service reps during our time with TriNet. Each one has been terrific. Virtually all answers have been given to my questions during the same call in which I asked them. Those that couldn't be provided had more to do with timing than it had to do with lack of knowledge or effort of the CSR. When we were laying off a staff person, TriNet ensured that we had all the paperwork in order so as to prevent future recourse. When a staff person gave notice, TriNet ensured that we asked for certain things prior to that person's departure. When we hired a new President and had to setup a special PTO schedule, TriNet walked me through each of the necessary steps to ensure that on the first payroll, the numbers were accurate.
All in all, the TriNet platform is quite user-friendly. I find myself frequently hunting around for what I need and eventually find it. Sometimes, however, certain features aren't as intuitive so it requires a call to the CSR. I'm also confident that there are features we aren't using or may not even know exist.
  • As aforementioned, with TriNet we do not have to worry about compliance with state and federal laws, as this is something TriNet does for us.
  • Maintaining Paid Time Off (sick, vacation, personal, etc.) has always been a challenge. We were using a convoluted paper trail. TriNet has automated this process for us.
  • As a small non profit organization, our healthcare expenses were incredibly high - so much so that we were considering cutting back on what we could offer employees. Once we switched to TriNet and took advantage of their buying power, we actually increased the number of options from which our employees could choose.
Although this decision was made prior to my start date, as of today I currently see no reason to investigate other alternatives.
If you are in start-up mode with plans to hire a few to many staff, building a company, or even a relatively large established organization, TriNet services could handle your HR needs. WIthin the last five years, the company had several changes (President left with little notice, a couple of administrative employees left, and one was let go). Fortunately our program staff remained in tact. TriNet helped ensure that all transitions were executed in a professional, legal manner. We don't need to employ a full-time staff person in our HR department if TriNet continues its efforts.
