Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

TriNet is great - they are also able to help you set up all the states you're not currently in. Customer services and having 3 points of contact is also very helpful. Great turnaround time with escalations, as well. Very helpful and communicative with all-things Compliance.
  • State registrations
  • Payroll compliance
  • Health Benefits
  • Communication
  • State, federal, etc compliance
  • Customer Service and availability
  • Consultation
  • Referrals out to partners/trusted vendors
  • All of the training and 101 classes you can take
  • Micro-sites
  • Updating knowledge-base center for compliance-related things for new-hires
  • More customized levels of permission
  • Integrating and automating Birthday and Work Anniversary emails (Gusto has this and we really liked it)
  • Integration with Guideline and/or 3rd party vendors
For us, the payroll specialist can make or break you - and is typically your primary point of contact for the majority of issues you have. This person can make or break your experience.
During our implementation, we were assigned a payroll specialist who just wasn't on top of their game, not very responsive, ill-advised us, etc. I asked to transtion us to someone else, and they did - and the experience is totally different. I LOVE my new payroll specialist!! She's very communicative, escalates issues, follows-through, and is very accessible. Absolutely wonderful to work with.
I think this is okay. But in general, I think perhaps considering building out another feature/product for an HRIS would be a great solution/upsell.
  • Reduced administrative burden, set up, etc for employees in new states - HUGE time and headache savings (currently in 11 different states)
  • HOURS saved for HR compliance (googling, newsletters, state/federal websites, etc) for new hire compliance and ongoing compliance
  • Labor law poster compliance - all in 1 solution
We were not with TriNet during COVID.

Do you think TriNet delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with TriNet's feature set?

Yes

Did TriNet live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of TriNet go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy TriNet again?

Yes

TriNet was just a better fit and better price point for our needs. We worked with PEO Spectrum that helped synthesize and analyze the competitors.
Definitely well-suited for remote companies who are set up in many different states and want to remove the admin burden of registering, paying taxes, reconciling, etc.
Well-suited for small companies who don't have the time or headcount to manage all of the compliance pieces in all of the different states you're in. Also great for someone who transitions or absorbs HR duties, due to all of the classes that you can take.
TriNet is a more long-term solution with scaling in mind.

Not well suited for companies who are in just a couple states.
