Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

We use the WatchGuard firewall with our clients to provide the first line of defense at their offices and we also use it heavily with site-to-site VPN and SSL VPN which came to a big use when Covid hit and users had to work from home. We also use the WatchGuard firewall mail filter for on-prem exchange.

  • Your support team went from being very helpful and providing solutions and advice to providing minimal help and advise
  • license renewal should be automated via cloud
  • WatchGuard cloud portal for managing firewalls is really bad that needs a lot of improving
  • WatchGuard competitive pricing allow us to win the deal when clients have other FW appliance

The quick setup wizard is amazing, with VPN connections with other Watchguard firewalls and VOIP capabilities.
Yes, WatchGuard licensing is very easy and clear, each item in the license section explains the feature very well so it's easy to explain to clients
WatchGuard firewall is very easy to manage, quick, and easy to deploy and activate. Also running firmware updates on WG is always fast and has no issues.

We always use WatchGuard firewalls for our clients in the construction industry as they open new sites on monthly bases and other sites close (project completed) and we find it very easy to get firewalls ready and configured to send to these sites and get them up and running whether they are on fiber connection or on 4G and it is very easy to move firewalls between sites, renaming them and the client up and running. For less appropriate scenarios is having a WatchGuard firewall in a data center, physical or virtual maybe we don't have enough knowledge with WG but we were able to achieve this using other firewalls.
