Overall Satisfaction with Xero

We are a small business and I use Xero to administer our accounts on a daily basis; bookkeeping, invoices, bank reconciliation, credit notes, etc.

Pros

  • Book Keeping
  • Raising Invoices
  • Chasing Invoices

Cons

  • App functionality
  • Reliability of banking feeds
  • Features to chase down differences in your bank account and Xero's balance
  • No cost of book keeping
  • No cost of sending or aggregating bank statements for an accounts, we just give them our Xero log in
  • Solving issues with a mismatch of balances is VERY time consuming
It is well suited to small businesses that have enough knowledge to do their books but perhaps do not need someone to fulfill that role full time. I cannot think of a situation where it would not be useful, perhaps for massive organisations who want to do complete custom reporting and have hundreds of accountants.
