AdRoll is great for more advanced Marketing organizations with a robust CRM and Marketing Automation platform as it provides a scalable platform for targeting multiple different audiences along their entire customer journey. Those just starting out may not be able to leverage the tool to its potential without robust training/support

Pros

  • Dynamic retargeting ads have been very effective with AdRoll. And they've allowed us to slice and dice our catalog very effectively.
  • Segmentation! Segmentation! Segmentation! From behavioral audience segmenting, to URL based segments, or CRM audiences, there's a lot of flexibility in the platform.

Cons

  • Account management can improve to include strategy and education for the client. We relied on Adroll and our other partners to give us new and innovative ideas on advertising.
  • ROI is based on CPM rather than CPC. Even though their budget is based on a CPM basis our company based performance off of CPC and we saw little ROI for what we were testing.

  • No clear roadmap for the future with their SEM product.

Honestly, AdRoll is like every other ad management system. In fact, all ad management systems are pretty much identical with a few proprietary tweaks. Creating a campaign is done in one seamless screen with everything you need right there. The ability to add creative and even order AdRoll to create ads for you is also easy. The monitoring of a live campaign is easy as you can see all the necessary information from the main screen. Super easy to use and reliable deliverability

The adroll interface is easier to use and more clear. The metrics are also more clear.

Poorly. For example, Kenshoo's offering is fast, customizable, works with all publisher platforms, and more. IgnitionOne just doesn't stack up well against the competition and isn't investing in the product like it used to.
