Calendly is perfect for anyone scheduling appointments. We use this for sales appointments, but I see it fitting very well for service industries such as massage, hair, and even coaching. Calendly integrates with any and all calendars and gives you the freedom to set your schedule and let your clients pick their times. You can set up custom meeting times, names, descriptions etc. The range of possibilities is very wide and is extremely user-friendly.

Deputy is perfect for restaurants or companies where employees work different shifts or can swap shifts. Its focus on that makes it a little annoying if your company works set shifts for all their employees. It is a great tool for growing businesses adding new locations at it works much better than box time clock solutions and allows you to pull all your timesheets into one location. Our major problem is that we have a few employees that work from home that need to clock in on their phones and the rest should use the time clock. The system is all or nothing on phone clock in access so there are no fine-grain controls over how employees can clock in. The other major problem is that employees at a location must select their name from a list on the time clock before entering their pin (if you don't use facial recognition). Once you have over 40-50 employees at a location it becomes a hassle for them to scroll down to their name.

Calendly

  • Automation - With Calendly, everything is automated. I do not need to be informed before a meeting is scheduled with me, neither do I need to put calls across or send emails to cancel appointments. Calendly simply does the running around for me.
  • Reminders - In a business environment, it’s so easy for one to forget scheduled activity. However, Calendly ensures this doesn’t happen with me . Thanks to its notification reminders, which ensures I am always abreast with what I need to do next.
  • Re-scheduling - Calendly makes it so easy for myself or the other party to cancel scheduled appointments and postpone to a more convenient date.
  • No calls or emails needed by either party.

  • I mentioned collaborative events. You can only set this up for people who are all users inside your account. So even if I have a partner who uses Calendly under his own company account, I don't think I can make a shared event with him.
  • Also mentioned already, this isn't a con of the product but a user issue: If you make openings, people will book. So you HAVE TO be disciplined and get everything on your calendar or someone will slip in a booking when you were planning to go to lunch, etc.

  • I have found that when I create a schedule, employees seem to create a new unscheduled shift rather than using the scheduled shift that I have published. Can you not allow an unscheduled shift to be created if there is a scheduled shift already published?
  • When you Start of End a shift, can you make the 'Submit' button more prominent so they don't forget to press 'submit'.

The basic functionality and overall efficiency it provides is enough to renew. I still would like to see improvements in reporting and leave management, but overall it is absolutely worth it to have the program. I especially like having remote access and supervisors scheduling and approving time sheets of employees

I gave Calendly an 8 because overall I think it is very much user friendly even for someone who has never used anything similar. The only issue I have had with usability is what I already stated about how the settings are in sub categories making some things difficult to find at first.

Occasionally the app can stutter, largely due to polling your location I believe, which is why I can't give it a perfect score. However, everything else is stellar frankly. The user interface is very easy to follow, and while some parts of some menus almost seem redundant, that doesn't actually make it "worse" to use.

I only reached out to Support once but they were very prompt and easy to work with. I had some questions about setting up the follow-up emails for after people would do the interview. They were very helpful and gave assistance and we solved the issue very fast. I would definitely recommend.

This was a very smooth install and briefing to roll this product out to staff. Ive used a few other software as a solution services and Deputy remains one of the tidiest in terms of keeping things familiar and solid while not looking dated or hard to use once an iOS or android update rolls out.

Square Appointments I like it as well it just doesn't have the robust ability that Calendly does. Personally, if there were an ability to do that, Square Appointments could give Calendly a run for their money for their own customers. I don't see how they could move the compete with customers that aren't theirs.Not only do I personally use Calendly but I see it all the time in my business email. It is literally few seconds to schedule. When I see Calendly, I am relieved immediately. That is how easy it is to understand their platform.
