Dashlane Password Manager works really well for situations where we need to share access to client portals or government filing sites, since multiple people can log in without ever seeing the actual password and we can cut off access right away when it’s no longer needed. It is also great for onboarding and offboarding since new hires or interns can get the logins they need quickly and we don’t have to pass around spreadsheets. Another strong use case is meeting compliance expectations because it shows clients we are serious about security and password hygiene. Where it’s less useful is in environments that already use single sign-on since that already centralizes access and makes Dashlane Password Manager feel redundant. It can also be a little frustrating if you rely heavily on mobile since the autofill doesn’t always work smoothly across different apps.
As discussed in previous sections, it does integrate well with other systems, and basic JML works well; it's very powerful and customizable in these areas (though also complex). The downsides are in areas like access reviews, where it's less customizable (no way to automatically send a review to the owner for a set of access items; each review needs an individual to be selected for it).
The access request work flow and back end process is exceptional. It effectively manages all of the various pieces of a request and presents the completed request to the provisioning agent as a single record. This is very helpful to the efficiency of the process since the provisioning agent only sees the completed request rather than seeing each component as it is approved. Other systems deliver the various request components to provisioning as they are approved but cannot be provisioned without all the components. Thus creating complexity for the provisioning agent and impacting the SLAs with what looks like a delay with the provisioning process.
The system is robust enough to effectively handle the scale that we need. With 750+ applications, 24,304 individual entitlements to select from, and an average of 10,200 request transactions per month. We have never had any performance issues.
The system flexible enough to accommodate our complex business needs without needing to customize the base system. We have been able to add significant functionality to the system in order to support the business needs by extending the code rather than altering the base code. This has enabled a simple upgrade of the system without having to re-apply code enhancements.
Technical adoption requires a high level of training and experience by the implementing teams.
SailPoint and partners offers very good training courses which I think are very good. An area of improvement can be in providing cloud VMs that users can work with to learn the IIQ tool more effectively at their own pace.
Its a best tool for a CISO, works very well, easy to use, great connectors and integrations, great reports, automated reviews, full compliance, great support to a JML (Joiners, Movers and Leavers) project;
Dashlane Password Manager is great for the price. Some feature sets of competitors are lacking, but I'm happy with what we get for the spend. We are a small enough company that I can walk people through the steps, and it isn't something that comes up enough to complain about. Password generation, storage and use are all great.
Always improving the UI, so it's getting better. Some areas are fully featured, but others, such as Separation of Duties reporting and policies, are very weak.
We've had no issues with Dashlane. I can't speak to their customer service because I have not personally needed to contact them. I guess that speaks about their product if we've not had any issues to reach out about. Great for supporting data/information on multiple platforms that are shared among team members.
The first journey isn't easy because you need to win your internal process and problem concern and Sailpoint have many experience to support this phase, and make the real difference into the client experience;
