It is my absolute recommendation for anyone at a multi-location, brick-and-mortar business that is consumer-focused. I haven't demoed any other tools that could come close to meeting the needs that I would have either at my previous agency role for clients or currently at my client-side job. However, not all companies that have a footprint/distribution in multiple areas are suited; I had a brewery client with a presence in multiple states (their products were in stores and salespeople were staffed in the area), but given MomentFeed's basis in listing data around physical locations, there wasn't a real way that the product could have accommodated. Cases like that are a square peg/round hole situation.

SimpleTexting

SimpleTexting is great if you want, as the name suggests, simple mass texting capabilities. It isn't too complicated, it's easy to use, and it does what it advertises. The number for people to sign up is easy to remember (555888) and it's easy to set simple keywords. If you're looking for something more robust with all sorts of nuanced capabilities, this may still work but you may want to look somewhere else

SimpleTexting

  • SimpleTexting provides excellent value based on their messaging packages but also by allowing its customers to utilize multiple keywords. This is helpful for our organization because we utilize this software across many different departments.
  • SimpleTexting analytics and reporting is a key strength of the software. The numbers they report weigh heavily on what we determine as a success of un-successful communication campaign.
  • SImpleTexting has excellent customer service available at the click of a button. Their team has always been available and offered solutions when we have had questions or run into a problem.

  • More reporting options. There is a wealth of data able to be reported around just one Facebook page; now imagine the type of data you have available to analyze across dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of local pages. They already do a good job of showing some valuable insights (and providing every other metric they can via spreadsheet exports) but I think there's pretty much an endless array of possibilities beyond what they have. I suppose that's a slippery slope though.
  • Some minor UI/UX issues. Some fields operate weirdly, some buttons may act funky, or the platform may not remember your location group selection when you move from one part of the product to another. Easily overlooked, however.
  • Social media publishing is sometimes delayed and may go out a handful of minutes after you intended. Not a problem in most cases, but I'd schedule natively or with another tool if you're depending on a post to go out at an exact moment.

SimpleTexting

  • A lot of glitches and bugs, with promised fixes that keep dragging on for some time.
  • Mobile notifications are very buggy. You have to keep force-closing the app and re-opening it multiple times to get the notifications to refresh.
  • Constant toggling of 'Unread' and 'All' on mobile or desktop to get the notifications to clear and show up as opened, otherwise it will imply it's not read.
  • Also, sometimes new notifications don't show up.

Anything I have contacted SimpleTexting, they have been very quick to respond and have provided great customer service. I am happy to know as a customer that if there is ever an issue, it will be solved in an expeditious manner. Their customer service is A plus and couldn't have been better.

I have not personally used Yext, but after a couple demos I didn't find that it fit the needs of my past clients or current company as much as MomentFeed could; I had also heard horror stories about how Yext effectively holds listing data hostage or simply removes it once you are no longer a customer.

SimpleTexting

We used a rival company called Textedly. The experience top to bottom was better with SimpleTexting, from pricing to simplicity of features to custom service to ease of accessing data to overall functionality. Would recommend SimpleTexting over many competitors in a heartbeat because of their solid service and product.

SimpleTexting

  • ROI was instant. Given SimpleTexting's pricing model - I never felt like this product was out of my budgeting scope or I need to heavily consider how my return was going to be impacted. Their pricing model allowed me to be super flexible in trying new strategies with SimpleTexting until one worked better than the rest.
