It's great for large field sales organizations that lack the ability to automate email sends that are consistent and on-brand. The idea of templated emails (with the ability to build custom emails) really helps keeps the look-and-feel of each email similar to what the rest of the organization is sending to customers or prospects. This isn't the solution that you'd need if you are looking for an automation tool that easily integrates into other marketing channels. The dynamic content feature is lagging far behind other tools in the space.

If you have to manage a great volume of mentions and you don't require a specific model of dashboard, or if you don't have the budget for a AI based platform, this is a very good option that could cover your needs. Also great if you have to manage a great volume of users and projects, to have the flexibility and agility to setup your own monitoring

  • The amount of the information that radian6 can pull from multiple social platforms is absolutely phenomenal. Its just not only the pull but the way the information can be presented in dashboards was way good. It helped us understand in various aspects of our social presence.
  • Multiple profiles helped us to break down the Big/Huge social buzz cloud to smaller and more manageable pieces. This helped us concentrate on the lows and helped us to plan better on turning them to highs.
  • Radian6 allowed us to follow thru the crowd trends with the latest information presented in a single view. This also helped us to collect the social opinion on the product releases.
  • The ease of use, one need not be an expert to start using this platform. The interface is easily understandable by anyone.
  • A keyword can be edited quickly to tailor the needs and the results were quick.

  • Deliverability reports - before sending emails they are checked for known issues and deliverability performance. The SFMC offering is ok but could be better. There additional software that can be purchased which should be included as part of the offering
  • SF should make it easier to integrate other clouds i.e commerce cloud and service cloud. The implementation of commerce cloud has improved but I still feel there is a way to go

  • Jack of all trades, master of none: OK so this might sound a bit harsh, but while the tool accomplished three similar functions competently, and all under one bonnet, the fact that none of them are outstanding in functionality and capability in my book that also counts as a weakness, regardless of the fact they are all combined in one software suite. It would seem that Salesforce needs to think more carefully about who the target user audience is here - publishers, sellers and marketers, or insight types who work with the content - it's a bit lacklustre in all three areas
  • Simplicity vs total control: I mentioned previously that it has a very intuitive, accessible and 'simplistic' (in a good way) UI which makes getting to grips with the tool great for early adopters. BUT with this comes the downfall that it is rather simplistic, and the rich functionality that is available in other platforms is just not seen here. For example, the engagement scores for competitor brands (not client / owned brands) are not available, meaning you can't do deeper dive analysis on content performance for rival organizations. The ability to only export content in 90 day chunks is also frustrating
  • For such a large organisation, think about how much support you're going to need from Salesforce. You might have to be prepared to wing it on your own

I like the survey function on the email tool as well. Overall usability is quite easy and no necessary to have an IT background or extensive knowledge to use. It is helpful, though, to have an understanding of HTML for formatting at this point.

• Would rate this a 6. The User Interface is pretty intuitive, but the platform was still considered pretty intimidating by our non-technical staff when they first saw it. It took a while to get used to it and feel comfortable. There was quite a lot of setup work in the beginning (for example, we had to build our own reports using a canned report as a template, and this was not simple). Although it took a while to get it setup correctly, it’s quite intuitive once that work has been done.

This software is extremely limiting. The layouts don't give much flexibility and take a long time to set up. If you aren't a designer or know html (like me), the emails look unpolished and amateur. It takes forever for me to make revisions and sometimes when I send the test email, it looks completely different in the software vs. how the message looks in my inbox. Fonts are different sizes and aren't aligned properly, etc. The whole platform is pretty clunky and not very user friendly. The reports are pretty good - however there isn't much you can do when viewing the info. Ex: If you have 200 "Did Not Open" emails, there isn't an easy way to just click and quickly resend to this group. I like that it can sync with Salesforce.com - but I have no idea how to set that up in my account.Out of frustration I have been using Constant Contact which has easy to use drag and drop features, built-in templates I can choose from, survey/coupon/registration tools, tagging and responsive reporting. My company's creative agency even prefers Constant Contact vs. Marketing Cloud.I still have to enter www.exacttarget.com (the old address) to log on. Wondering when they will change it to the new name, which I don't like using. Exact Target is so much easier to say. Salesforce Marketing Cloud just doesn't roll off the tongue and - just like the software - is clumsy and awkward, so I just keep calling it Exact Target.Overall, pretty much dissatisfied with Exact Target and have pretty much stopped using it. Although I know eventually I will have to go back to it at some point since my company has invested in the automation features and we will have to use it for our marketing.

This was pretty effective since it happened after our data had been loaded into the system and it had been configured for specific needs our organization. I have used Epsilon and I have evaluated Silverpop, e-Dialogue and Yesmail. From my analysis Salesforce MC is far more superior in flexibility, scalability and freedom to custom built initiatives. The AMPscripting is one of the driving forces in allowing the previous mentioned abilities. However, I can see from a marketers perspective where they simply want to send emails and segment easily. But given that effective email marketing requires a lot of different components and there is no simple way of doing it and I found that most companies that offer the out of the box solutions do a good job but there is no one size fits all and if you are trying to be really good at it which includes integrating your business such as registration, stats, CMS, API, etc. This is a much better solution.

  • Better execution/monitoring - when multiple steps are involved, IMH is great at dashboarding.
  • Facilitates exploratory campaigns - it is great at instilling confidence when you're trying a new facet of a campaign, due to the process transparency.
  • Cloud - can be a double-edged sword. Allows for on the go access, but isn't truly mobile-friendly, and can sometimes sputter. But certainly will improve with time.
