Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now
ADP WFN is used by both our corporate headquarters and all our US subsidiaries. With the integration of payroll and benefits on one platform we have greater reporting capabilities which have been enhanced by the analytics module. Tying in a time and labor management system has helped to streamline our payroll processing procedure and increase efficiency. Having a web based program allows me as manager to act as an "eye in the sky" and oversee all our payroll processings and employee data, no matter which administrator actually enters the information. This helps when troubleshooting, or dealing with out of the norm situations that some admins may need assistance with.
- WFN offers Dashboards that breakout information in a way that is easy to find and easy to understand. Links are embedded in the Dashboard so you can further break down the data and run reports.
- Payroll previews are returned in real-time to help expedite your processing and assist with the accuracy of the paryoll. Numerous reports are available for your review. We use the Payroll Preview to verify our imported information form Enhanced Time.
- WFN Portal provides links to ADP resources, such as The Bridge (peer to peer online community), Learn@adp (training resources website), Support Center (additional resources), ADP Marketplace (additional services provided by ADP partners). The links provide shortcuts to additional administrative tools.
- WFN is a continously evolving platform that takes client feedback to heart. No one knows what we need from a HCM system better than the clients who use it. A Product Feedback option is provided so clients can send their comments - the good, the bad, and the ugly.
- Security setup is split into 2 areas: Security Management and Access Permissions. As a manufacturing company, we have multiple sites, multiple company codes and multiple roles. Depending on the complexity of your company's setup, assigning the right access to users can be time consuming. I would like to see security "templates" that would include both pieces of the puzzle, with the ability to copy and tweak as necessary.
- For clients who need to have additional earnings as part of an employees regular pay, the WFN system requires you to be on "autopay" for your employees. Although "autopay" still needs a payroll admin's approval before the payroll is finalized, I would prefer to have the option of NOT going to "autopay" for security reasons on some of our payrolls.
- Mass change feature is great, but it does not apply to fields in Time Position tab of an employee's profile. When we have changes in shifts, or departments, it would be convenient to update the information thru Mass change.
- WFN has made a positive impact by quickly providing analytical data that was previously gathered manually.
- WFN has significantly reduced the amount of processing time for all our payrolls. We process @ 50 payrolls each month, based on weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll frequencies. Our payrolls used to take approximately 5-6 hours minimum each processing, and now on average are completed in 2-3 hours.
- We have not had the need to integrate any systems with WFN at this time.
Although we were one of the first clients on ADP's WFN system, as a manager I periodically research other companies to see what else is available. The competition simply cannot match the features and capabilities of ADP's WFN system. ADP's commitment to provide clients with the best possible Human Capital Management system is unwavering. When combined with the level of service provided, we simply have no reason to look elsewhere.

Evaluating ADP Workforce Now and Competitors
Yes - ADP Workforce Now replaced the current ADP system we had at the time (PayExpert/HR Perspective). We had some personnel changes within our organization and wanted the latest and greatest system with expanded features and capabilities so we upgraded to WFN.
- Product Features
- Product Usability
- Vendor Reputation
- Existing Relationship with the Vendor
- Positive Sales Experience with the Vendor
Although several reasons were all factors to our decision to upgrade to WFN, the main 2 that were the most important were 1) the relationship we already had with ADP and the level of service we received 2) the product features. As a long standing client of ADP's we had faith that the new system would meet our needs, and when we saw all the bells and whistles we knew WFN was the right product for us.
ADP WFN has been a great system for us. The ability to add features as we need them (i.e. on boarding, analytics) confirms that we made the right decision. We did meet with another vendor to compare the quality and components of the systems, but ADP was far superior. Meeting with another company helped prove that ADP was the right fit for us.
ADP Workforce Now Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Not sure - We implemented WFN in 2010. Since it has been almost a decade I do not remember all the details.
- lack of response. Although emails and calls were followed up, there were incidents where we would have appreciated a quicker turn around.
ADP Workforce Now Support
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Problems get solved Kept well informed No escalation required Immediate help available Support understands my problem Support cares about my success Quick Initial Response | None |
Not Available - No need - my support team is incredible.
Yes - There was a glitch after one of the upgrades and ADP quickly resolved it.
In preparation of our worker's comp audits we were manually preparing data for the auditors. My Dedicated Account Manager created an import so we could upload the worker's comp codes for over 400 employees. We worked together to ensure we had all the necessary fields, then worked together with ADP's Technical support to create a report to capture the required data. Once this was loaded into the system, we were able to generate reports based on actual earnings without manually creating spreadsheets. The amount of time saved was incredible. We used to spend days compiling data and now all our reports are available at the push of a button. I no longer dread the words "the auditor is coming" and my ADP will forever be my hero. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that ADP will provide the support i need, when i need it.

Like to use Relatively simple Easy to use Technical support not required Well integrated Consistent Quick to learn Convenient Feel confident using Familiar | None |
- ADP Reporting is very user friendly
- links to other ADP tools & websites are embedded in the system. This helps with efficiency and eliminates the need to log into separate websites
- helpful hints and "walk me thru" features embedded in the system assist the user in getting to learn particular tasks while still in the system.
- Although relatively new, interface with the Enhanced Time product can be cumbersome and finicky if not all fields are entered correctly
- Setting up new positions for an employee, and terminating the old position can be tricky depending on the employee's circumstances.
Yes, but I don't use it - We are just starting to research the mobile app.
