Overall Satisfaction with Apple iCloud
I use iCloud for personal devices as well as support our employees that use iCloud. It is not used by any particular department, but I support it on an individual basis for employees using Apple devices.
- Excellent for notes keeping and accessing.
- Great for backing up items and also syncing items that have been added.
- Sharing Keynotes.
- Good for tracking devices.
- When a user is new to iCloud it is a bit difficult for them to get the hang of how it works. Could be less confusing.
- The web access needs to be more robust.
- Better support for other environments. Needs to "play better" with Windows.
- Storage is pricey.
- Good for keeping device data synced in case of a crash.
- Good for when swapping out devices and you need to backup old devices and restore everything over to the new device. Though for a new user it can be a bit of a learning curve.
This really just depends on the device you are using. If you use a lot of Apple devices then this of course is the way to go. But, if you use multi-platform devices, issues do occur. As always, Apple needs to learn to "play better with others", because in corporate environments it is very unlikely that they are an Apple only shop.

- We use it for its intended purpose and only on devices by Apple that can utilize it best. So, this totally depends on how Apple develops the product in the future. Especially, if they decide to make it more friendly to other environments and devices other than their own.
Evaluating Apple iCloud and Competitors
- Product Features
We use it with Apple's devices. Our biggest use is for users to sync data and also to backup devices and restore them if they upgrade to a new device or have a device failure.
Would not change anything. For Apple devices this is what should be used for your device backups.
