Overall Satisfaction with Asana

We use Asana throughout our organization to manage projects and tasks between various teams. We have a Web Development team and a Content Development team and Asana provides a workspace for each team. Asana uses a simple interface and allows us to easily add, manage and assign tasks to our team using our existing project management processes and workflow.
  • Initial set up is quick and easy.
  • Interface is straightforward and user-friendly.
  • The ability to comment on tasks keeps all relevant communication in one place.
  • I'd like the ability to have customizable statuses. As-is, Asana only offers the ability to move items from one task list to another or complete the task.
  • It would be nice to be able to comment on subtasks.
  • Paid version is too expensive.
  • Ease of use: The interface is very streamlined so our teams have had no problems using this tool.
  • The ability to create multiple teams helps to keep different workflows separated.
  • The template features allows you to turn any existing project into a template for future use. Since many of our projects use the same workflow, this saves so much time in the long run.
  • Improved organization: Prior to me coming on board our team, there was no project management tool used. Asana helps our team to keep all project-related tasks and conversations in one place.
  • Time savings: Because of increased organization, members of my team never question what they need to be working on. This frees me up as a project manager to focus on other things.
  • Improved communication: Asana gives you the ability to communicate directly within tasks and this has streamlined our communication immensely. No more sifting through emails!
Asana generally takes less time to set up, so for my small team that has limited experience working with project management tools, Asana is great. We didn't need anything with lots of bells and whistles so Asana works well. ClickUp takes much more time to set up initially, but has many more bells and whistles (i.e. custom statuses, the ability to comment on subtasks, time tracking, etc.). Basecamp is also straightforward to setup, but has a slight leg up on Asana because of the document management feature.

No

Are you happy with Asana's feature set?

No

Would you buy Asana again?

For teams that have a fairly simple workflow where not much customization will be needed with their project management tool, Asana is a great way to go. Setting up a team workflow is super quick and easy, and onboarding other team members is straightforward due to the simplicity of the interface.
