Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The University of Auckland has a plan to use BonitaBPM across the organisation. It automates most of the paper forms and helps to improve integration with other systems.

Provides good business support.
Decouples front-end and backend modules.
BonitaBPM's flexible architecture gives the ability to extend this platform.

Managing BDM database.
Extend predefined stable connector list.
Provide more examples of REST API usage.

It positively impacts the automation process and integration with other systems. This improved our clients' experience.
The business analyst team improved their workflow with this tool.

Alternatives Considered

Before we made our choice on BonitaBPM, we evaluated a number of different BPM solutions: jBPM, JBoss BPM, Oracle BPM, AtosBPM and etc.

Mule ESB, Oracle PeopleSoft SCM

Likelihood to Recommend

It plays well when everyone in the organisation understand its possibility and the way it works. It is not ready to use in Agile projects.

Thank you very much for your comments. I am happy to hear that your plans to automate your processes and eliminate a great part of paperwork using Bonita BPM is on track! Indeed, as you said, Bonita BPM is flexible and can be connected with a wide range of other tools. Bonita BPM comes with a set of tested and documented connectors. When you mention "Extend predefined stable connector list", do you want Bonita BPM to come with more connectors? If so, can you let us know which ones you are looking for? (You can also check for in the Bonita community for additional connectors.) I see you are using Mule ESB, so you might be interested in a new webinar that is coming up on Bonita BPM integration with ESB. It has not been scheduled yet but keep checking in the webinars page. For more examples of REST API usage, the "Getting started tutorial" might help you as it includes several calls to REST APIs.
