Overall Satisfaction with Cisco ASA 5500-X with FirePOWER Services

We are using ASA 5500-X firewall for protecting our network. The firewall protects our network from unauthorised access. We also like that it has ASDM(GUI based interface ) in addition to CLI interface for configuring the device. The appliance provides many features considering its size and it perfectly fulfills all our requirements to the hilt. We use the LDAP authentication for providing access to our network/server.

  • Easy to setup and use.
  • Easy to reconfigure the device in case of change in ISP.
  • I have not found anything to dislike in the device.
  • The hardware is quite durable. So maintenance costs are minimum.
  • provides all the required features as of now. So, no need to look for another firewall.

The ASA 5505 firewall provides reliable and secured connectivity to our users when they are outside the office and provide protection against unauthorised users and allows only traffic which has been authorised as per the configuration in it by the user.
We have had not felt the need to contact Cisco support for Cisco ASA firewall in our premises. But, the online forums(Cisco Community) are a great help for soliciting assistance from Cisco experts for free in case there any issues.

ASA 5500-X appliances are well suited for SMB's, enterprises. They provide many security features for the users. The appliances are very durable and the hardware hardly fails- only very few times in some 5-8 year,s we had to restart the firewall to solve some issues relating to working of its functions. ASA is a good investment in the long run.

Using Cisco ASA 5500-X with FirePOWER Services

10 - 1.Management Team. 2. Sales and Marketing Team. 3. Technical support team. 4. Human resources Team.5. Administrative Team. Many employees in all business functions teams are using this firewall for connecting to our office network. The firewall grants access to our employees to our network resources whenever they are not in office.
3 - Basic knowledge about Cisco commands and helpful guides on Cisco website(community foorums), third party forums are a great help to troubleshoot any issues. In all cases, only a restart of the hardware was required and no further troubleshooting and solutions were needed. So, it does not require very highly skilled engineers. L1 engineers suffice.

  • For ensuring seamless operational running.
  • We have not come to know about any other way we can use the firewall but we would surely study its features whenever a business expansion is expected to happen so that we can use some additional features, if any.
