Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our whole company uses Webex Meetings whenever we need to meet with customers as we generally work from home these days. It is also used for all scheduled meetings. Webex Meetings allows us to share video as well as presentations and screens hence we can show others what we are talking about easily.

Pros and Cons

Simple to use with consistent layout across devices.
Works on PC, Mac, Android, iPhone, and Ciscos video devices too.
Great new features like Webex Assistant and the background noise removal.

Virtual backgrounds need more CPU than my MacBook has.
Video is not so good on low bandwidth connections, it is very impressive with a good connection though.

Return on Investment

Increased efficiency as we can have good meetings remotely.
Being a cloud service we can meet from anywhere too.

Alternatives Considered

Zoom and Microsoft Teams

I have only used Zoom and MS Teams as a participant after we already purchased our Webex Meetings subscription. There is no reason to change to either of them, Webex Meetings has all the same features, and I know it works well with office video devices. I have noticed Zoom works a little better with low bandwidth connections, possibly because the video is lower quality as standard I gather.

Reliability and Availability

I have never noticed the service to be down when I have needed it. I have always been able to successfully schedule and start meetings when needed so I have no reason to question the availability of this service

Scalability

I have seen that we have the ability to have something like 1000 participants sharing video in a Webex Meeting, and even more, if set up for a broadcast webinar. However, our company is not that large so we have never needed to experience the full scalability of the service.

Performance

As mentioned previously when on a low bandwidth connection I have noticed that the video does suffer a bit. Other than this Webex Meetings has always been responsive for me. For example, the screen sharing feature works well when there is movement of a mouse cursor or remote video playback.

Likelihood to Recommend

Webex Meetings is great as a remote collaboration tool as it is easy to set up and join a meeting, and the quality is normally very good. It works well with Cisco's own video devices in the office, and a lot of improvements have been made in the PC/at-home experience in the last year too.
