Overall Satisfaction with ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect)

I use the software to generate one-time use sessions to resolve any immediate issues my clients might be having with their machines. From printing issues to email or other software issues. This software keeps me from having to drive to the client's location for a problem that is simple to fix.
  • The software is very intuitive especially if you’ve used other remote control offerings such as TeamViewer.
  • The mobile app works really well and is very convenient to take care of a quick issue for someone if a computer isn’t available.
  • The customizations for the software are great. There are almost too many things that you can change it can be daunting.
  • It’s great to have the ability to have a permanent connection to a machine for a client so an easy connection can be made to resolve quick issues without creating a session and getting the client to connect to it.
  • I would really like to see the ability to capture Windows credentials for unattended reboots made more seamless. Most of the time, a user doesn’t know their username, especially with so many people using Microsoft accounts. It would be nice if the software could parse the currently logged in user so the client just has to enter the password for the account. Of course, the password would need to be checked against the SAM hash to make sure that it is correct. LogMeIn does this very well so something similar should be implemented ASAP.
  • As soon as a session is established, the sleep and hibernate on the host machine should be disabled. This should be automatic versus having to client the “aquire wake lock” button.
  • It should be easier to deploy software that you use often. When uploading software and deploying it, it would be nice to be able to deploy a folder with multiple files in it all at once.
  • The software is extremely customizable but so many of the customizations are not documented well so it isn’t clear what they all do. A comprehensive document detailing all these customizations would be nice.
  • Having this software has allowed me to resolve issues without having to make an appointment and drive to a clients location. This has saved me time and has been more convenient for the client because issues can be resolved more quickly.
  • I think the cost of the software is very attractive especially for the features that are included. It has a lot of the same features as more expensive software but is significantly less expensive.
This software has most of the same features. Some things need some work, such as capturing user credentials for unattended reboot, but overall, the software works great.
I honestly think this software is in a great position to compete directly with overpriced products like TeamViewer and LogMeIn Rescue (LMI). I do think the overall experience for the client is better and easier to get connected with LMI but it seems that this software is evolving and getting better all the time. As long as the prices stay where they are, this is a fantastic buy.
